Max Kandhola
M. K. is a fine art documentary photographer and a senior lecturer in Photography at Nottingham Trent University England. His photographic essays have been exhibited and published internationally, and in 2003 Illustration of Life was published by Dewi Lewis publishing and Light Work New York. In the past ten years Max Kandhola's has worked within a social and political discourse of cultural diversity and ethnicity. His work is about ancestral narratives, tracing history, heritage, identity, archive and evidence.
He has worked with numerous photographic galleries, publishers and organisations, Pavilion UK, Rhubarb Rhubarb UK, Autograph ABP London UK, Light Work Syracuse New York. Max Kandhola regularly mentors graduates, emerging and mid career photographers in their professional and creative development. He has extensive knowledge of the photography scene in England and can advise photographers in their approach towards portfolio development. M. K. is interested in looking at intellectually challenging photographic essays. He wants to see issue based documentary or fine art photography, which has a social and political photographic discourse. Max is not interested in seeing any form of manipulated digital work or irrelevant glamour or nude photography.
