About Living Nature

Lilili is a photographer who starts from a knowledge of the tradition of visuality while simultaneously casting doubt on it in a non-violent way, laying stress on the authenticity of expression. Lilili's photographic work more than anything else renews such an ethical attitude towards reality as dedicates itself fully to a search for order - be it artistic, ecological, moral or religious. The author strives to portray not solely these affinities in every photograph, but also her humility and gratitude before the world; this admiration is to her a source of iconography, an indispensable condition to her entire work. The world's cruelty becomes reflected in everyday violence, in strifes without any reason, in bribery,. Lilili builds up her visual world on the opposite shore where children, the body, fruit and humour outline a road that leads us through a magnificent landscape of harmony. The ethical criterion in Lilili's photographs forms an integral part of her aesthetics, creating a relationship between the human and the vegetative. In these photographs of noble intentions in which are presented saints, angels and a whole series of references to the historical experience of fine arts, the authentic justifies itself per se. Lilili endeavours to stimulate us to avoid chaos. In her photographs life radiates, is the sun entering through a window thus permitting us to make out outlines and forms of the kingdom of this world. The artist condenses reality and renders it visible to the viewer. Lilili induces an emotional relation where earthly fare (to use André Gide's expression) forms part of the works, compositions which the artist creates in her studio. She arranges the meeting of two worlds, gently, without violence and through an almost perfect union in which personages are meant to be symbolical, creating an awareness of longing after great values without doing away with the entertaining, playful spirit that is the true material of her pictures.
